MADISON (WKOW) -- Giving Tuesday is even more important this year for one Madison non-profit organization.

Literacy Network is looking to the community for donations to fund its citizenship class, after the federal government cut funding for many of its programs earlier this year .

The organization set a goal of raising $10,000 , which is enough money to fund one of the citizenship classes for the year.

Director of Program Impact, Caitlin Mackesey, says they've been relying on the community's support to help fund their classes.

"We're really thankful to all the people who have supported us as we've made this transition away from that federal grant," Mackesey said.
