MADISON (WKOW) – The city of Madison has selected two potential locations for a new Amtrak station. The proposed train line would extend the Hiawatha line, which currently connects Chicago and Milwaukee.
"We've heard from Amtrak that they are very, very interested in Madison as a new market for passenger rail," said Liz Callin, a principal transportation planner with the city.
Callin explained that the potential Amtrak route would provide another means for people to travel to and from Madison.
"We also have a lot of business travel and a lot of tourism that would utilize [this] service to Madison," said Callin.
