A 26-year-old New Jersey man was arrested Monday night after fleeing from Trenton police and crashing his car five miles away in Pennsylvania, authorities said.
The incident unfolded at 8:38 p.m. when Trenton police responded to gunshots on the 200 block of Walnut Avenue and saw a car speeding away from the area, officials said.
Trenton police officers tried to pull the car over but the driver didn’t stop and police pursued the vehicle into Pennsylvania before calling off the chase.
The driver — Alix Eugene — crashed and overturned a short time later on an embankment in the area of Woolston Drive and Stony Hill Road in Falls Township, according to police in the Bucks County town.
