LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
Charles Booker is making a third run at U.S. Senate in Kentucky, joining an already crowded field.
The 41-year-old Democrat served as the Kentucky House of Representatives for the 43rd District from 2019 to 2021.
He launched his first Senate run in 2020, hoping to unseat Mitch McConnell. He had a late surge in the race after the police killing of Breonna Taylor, but ultimately lost the primary to Amy McGrath, who is also running again next year.
He tried again in 2022, that time to replace Rand Paul. Booker took the Democratic nomination but ultimately lost the race.
Now, McConnell is stepping down , leaving a vacancy. And according to Booker's website Wednesday morning, he's all in again.
