DELTONA, Fla. – A lawsuit accusing the city of Deltona of taking actions that flooded homes in the Stone Island neighborhood in the wake of Hurricane Ian has been dismissed.
A judge closed the case on Tuesday, granting summary judgment in the city’s favor.
The Stone Island neighborhood is located on the north side of Lake Monroe, near Deltona, where dozens of residents saw their homes flooded after Hurricane Ian hit Florida in 2022.

The residents, however, sought compensation for the damage from the city of Deltona.
In the lawsuit filed in 2023 , the residents said the city’s decision to open an emergency stormwater overflow connection to the east of the neighborhood, without approval from the St. Johns River Water Management
