GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) - A convicted felon was arrested for drug-trafficking crimes and firearm possession in Gainesville.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Florida, William Blas Hernandez, 28, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute meth, carrying a firearm during a drug-trafficking crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Officials say law enforcement pulled Hernandez over for speeding, and his car matched the description given by a 911 caller who reported his other crimes.
After searching the vehicle, officers say they found a loaded pistol, over 50 grams of meth and other drug paraphernalia in Hernandez’s backpack.
Hernandez was recently released from prison after being convicted of eight prior felonies. He now face
