Residents in West Dunbartonshire are being asked to 'be cautious' after reports have been made of a woman impersonating a police officer in the area.
On three separate occasions on Wednesday, December 3, home owners were contacted via a withheld number from a woman with an English accent who claimed to be a police officer.
Police Scotland have confirmed that the woman does not ask for money or personal details, but that the calls are malicious and impersonating a police officer is a crime .
Officers are now urging the public in West Dunbartonshire to be wary if they receive a call from anyone claiming to be a member of the police force.
