A part of Highway 111 in Dunlap was closed on Tuesday due to a crash involving two pickup trucks, leaving one driver seriously injured.

The Dunlap Fire Department said the crash happened on Highway 111 southbound above the scenic overlook at about 4:20pm.

Firefighters rescued one driver who was trapped in the truck. They had to remove the driver's side door and cab top.

That person had serious injuries, and EMS then took the driver to Erlanger hospital.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol, Puckett EMS, Sequatchie County deputies, TDOT and Griswold Towing were all on scene to help clear the wreckage.

Authorities reopened the roadway after removing both trucks.

The fire department did not comment on the condition of the other driver.
