Over half of the B.C. Conservative caucus have signed a letter calling for the resignation of party leader John Rustad and the appointment of an interim leader.
Lawyer Bruce Hallsor of Crease Harman LLP said in a letter sent to party president Aisha Estey, and obtained by Postmedia, that he is in receipt of “twenty statements, individually executed, which all advise that the member has lost confidence in the leadership of John Rustad.”
This letter comes on the heels of a separate letter in October from seven of the nine members of the party’s management committee, including party president Estey, calling for Rustad to resign over the resignation or ejection of five MLAs since October 2024’s provincial election and the inability to fundraise.
