LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office seized more than 100 pounds of narcotics in a single operation on Wednesday.

In a statement, the JCSO announced that detectives conducted one of their biggest operations of the year with the help of the department’s K-9 Unit on Wednesday, Nov. 3.

Police say that the seizure included 108 pounds of marijuana and two pounds of heroin that is suspected to be laced with fentanyl.

According to officials, Wednesday’s operation was part of an ongoing investigation by the JCSO aimed at disrupting large-scale drug trafficking in Jefferson County.

No information regarding arrests or where the drugs were recovered from has been released at this time.
