ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. ( WWSB ) - A 65-year-old man has been arrested on charges of sexually abusing a young child, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.

Lawrence Airdo was taken into custody after a child told her parents that she had been sexually abused by a man known to the family, police said.

Airdo faces charges of sexual battery on a child under 12 and lewd and lascivious molestation by an adult on a child under 12.
