SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - The FDA warned Americans Tuesday that nearly three million “Free Style Libre Three” and “Free Style Libre Three plus” sensors can give incorrect readings with potentially dire consequences.
The Ebbrecht family from Fair Grove says when their son received his Continuous Glucose Monitor, it changed the way they managed his diabetes. Nine-year-old Cannon was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 4.
“We always say that the technology is great when it’s working,” said a family member.
But when it’s not working, CGM failures can be dangerous for families like the Ebbrechts. While Cannon doesn’t have this specific model, he’s had some issues with his CGM.
