Two weeks ago, I had a nightmare experience that illustrates the sorry state of our electric vehicle infrastructure. I drove from Detroit to Monroe in an electric car, but throughout the entire trip, I forgot to look at the charging mileage information on the dashboard.

I made it there OK, but halfway back to Detroit, the dashboard suddenly warned me that I had only 2% charge left. By the time I got off I-75 and into a gas station, it indicated 0%.This gas station did not have a charging station, so I looked up the nearest charging station on my phone. I then called AAA, so they could tow the car to this station. Well, when I got there, I discovered that this charging station was no longer in service. So, my friend had to come from Detroit in another car.
