Members of Frederick’s Deaf and hard of hearing community hope to have a space of their own to gather sometime this winter, according to organizers.

The new Maryland Deaf Community Center should be finished in January or February, Linda Stoltz, the center’s president, said through a telephone sign language interpreter Tuesday.
