Reform UK has initiated an 'urgent' probe into Staffordshire County Council leader Ian Cooper following the discovery of racist social media posts allegedly linked to accounts bearing his name.

Anti-racism organisation Hope Not Hate has published a piece alleging that Cllr Cooper made numerous 'racist and bigoted' remarks on YouTube and X, including offensive comments targeting Black and Asian public figures.

Cllr Cooper, who serves Perrycrofts in Tamworth , has headed the county council since Reform's sweeping triumph in May's local elections .
