As IndiGo continued to grapple with severe flight disruptions for the third day running, the airline’s CEO Pieter Elbers told staff on Thursday that the carrier’s immediate goal is to normalise flight operations and bring punctuality back on track over the next few days, adding that it is “not an easy target”. Elbers also acknowledged that IndiGo has not been able to live up to customer expectations over the past few days, and that the airline has publicly apologised for that.
Since Tuesday, the carrier has had to cancel over 500 flights, with many more delayed for extended periods. On Thursday alone, over 200 IndiGo flights are estimated to have been cancelled across major airports.
