OMAHA, Neb. —

The Omaha Public Library's 25th Annual Teen Poetry Bash brings creative minds of all ages together for one special day.

There's still time for teens to join the competition that features judges from the Nebraska Writers Collective.

KETV's Eddie Messel sat down with OPL's Marketing Manager, Courtni Kopietz, to hear more about the event taking place on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the Milton R. Abrahams Branch on North 90th Street from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Any student in grades 8-12 from the Omaha Metro can register for the bash.

To participate, create two original poems between one and two minutes in length that you can perform in front of the audience.

The student poets will be judged on their creativity and performance.

There are cash prizes!
