A fixture for live music in Northern Westchester has closed, bringing an over two-decades-long era to an end.

Lucy's of Pleasantville, located at 446 Bedford Rd., held its last night in business on Wednesday, Nov. 26, the night before Thanksgiving.

The establishment, which opened under the Lucy's name in 2004 and was known for hosting live music such as bands and acoustic performances, marked the occasion with "Last Night At Lucy's," which featured unlimited draft beer and bottles for the night. Visitors could also grab memorabilia from the wall of the decades-old venue.

The closure came nearly three years after the business remodeled into two parts: The Garage at Lucy's and The Basement at Lucy's, which both evoked the feelings of the 1970s and 80s to give the place a sense of old-school charm.

The news of the closure sparked an outpouring of grief from those who frequented the place over the years.

"I saw many a great band, experienced many a late night and held many a Pleasantville Music Festival event there," wrote one past visitor on Facebook, also adding, "In a way, it was my version of Cheers, as it was the place where everybody knew my name."

Another wrote, "It's sad to see another place for good music close, I have had great memories there...we will miss the good times and the bands that have graced the stage."

Lucy's is set to be replaced by The Pleasantville Tavern, which brands itself as a "premier sports bar" and aims to open in February, according to a job listing.
