The Fiesta Sports Foundation gave a record $1.5 million to 540 teachers across Arizona to fund specific classroom projects as part of its Wishes for Teachers program this year.
That includes grants of $2,500 each for six Scottsdale teachers, according to a press release. Those teachers are:
• Ramona Emch, a first grade reading and social studies teacher at Sandpiper Elementary School, wishes to buy reading games, puppets and art supplies to help first graders learn through play and creativity.
• Emily Fields, a fourth grade general education teacher at Navajo Elementary School, wishes to add flexible seating, a calm-down corner, new books and essential tech tools to improve engagement and focus.
• Carolyn Hahn, a sixth and seventh grade career exploration, technology and gifted teacher
