Up to one-third of single Americans experiencing homelessness are estimated to have a serious mental illness: a problem that a new state-owned facility in Phoenix is hoping to address.
The $5 million, 50-bed Pathways of Hope, on the northeast corner of Van Buren and 24th streets, is next to the Arizona State Hospital, which is the most restrictive psychiatric hospital in the state.
