PENDLETON, N.Y. — A teen pedestrian was injured Thursday afternoon in Niagara County when an ambulance responding to a call collided with another vehicle at an intersection.

The incident happened shortly past 3 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Mapleton and Townline roads in the Town of Pendleton.

That's where, according to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office , a 2023 Ford F450 ambulance was heading east on Mapleton Road enroute to a call. The collision happened after a 2024 Hyundai traveling north on Wheatfield-Pendleton Townline Road failed to yield the right of way.

The ambulance struck the Hyundai, and the impact pushed both vehicles northeast across the intersection. The ambulance struck a 16-year-old boy, who had been walking west, along the north shoulder of Mapleton Road.
