TEMPE, AZ (AZFamily) — Tempe city leaders are demanding action against Tempe Tavern after police raided the bar at the end of November , finding more than 200 underage drinkers inside. The bar is also connected to a deadly hit-and-run .

The incident adds to a broader conversation in Tempe about how people younger than 21 are getting into bars and drinking.

Tempe City Councilmember Randy Keating had strong words after the latest raid, where officers found hundreds more underage drinkers using fake IDs. Keating said the city’s hands are tied and it cannot act on its own, so he is calling on the state alcohol board to step in.

“I would like to see their license revoked. It’s the willful disregard for the law,” Keating said.
