A 14-year-old girl was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries on Thursday after she was hit by a car in Salisbury, Massachusetts.

Salsibury police said the teen was walking on Route 1 in Salisbury Square when she was hit around 5:26 p.m. She was taken to the hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries.

The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, police said.

Any witnesses are urged to call police at 978-465-3121. The crash remains under investigation by the Salisbury Police Department and Essex County District Attorney's Office.
