Season series: Philadelphia leads 1-0
Philadelphia escaped with a 99-98 win over the Golden State Warriors Thursday, thanks to a go-ahead putback from rookie G VJ Edgecombe. The 76ers failed to cover as 4-point home favorites and the Under (223.5) hit. G Tyrese Maxey led Philly with 35 points, finishing as the only Sixer to score over 15 points.
Milwaukee narrowly defeated the Detroit Pistons 113-109 Wednesday, covering as a 4.5-point home underdog with the Under (228) cashing. Guards Kevin Porter Jr. and Ryan Rollins combined for 48 points to lead the Bucks, as F Giannis Antetokounmpo left the contest with a calf injury in the opening quarter. The Bucks trailed by as much as 18 during the game, but a 35-24 advantage in the final quarter sealed the win for Milwaukee.
The Sixers beat the Bucks 123-114 in OT Nov. 20, covering as a 1.5-point road favorite with the Over (223) hitting. Maxey scored a career-high 54 points in that game, and the Sixers led in both rebounding and points off turnovers.

76ers at Bucks picks and predictions
Prediction
76ers 108, Bucks 102
Moneyline
BET 76ERS (-118).
The 76ers are the better team with Antetokounmpo out, and they proved it in their last matchup against the Bucks. Expect Maxey and the Sixers to find similar offensive success in this outing while also performing slightly better defensively, now that they’ve had more time to scheme against this Bucks team.
Against the spread
PASS.
I lean toward the 76ers to cover here as -1.5 (-105) favorites, but their odds are safer on the moneyline, and I’m not a fan of backing a team on both plays in the same game. Pass here and bet on the moneyline and/or total instead.
If you’re comfortable with the risk, the Sixers are worth a small wager, given how tightly the lines are set.
Over/Under
LEAN UNDER 221.5 (-105).
The Under has hit in back-to-back games for Philly and is 2-1 in the Sixers' last 3 road games. For the Bucks, the Under is 5-1 in their last 6 overall and 7-1 in their last 10 games.
With Antetokounmpo out, this Bucks offense, which averages 115.8 points per game, will likely continue to struggle in this matchup -- especially if the Sixers are mostly healthy.
This is a lean, as the Over is 7-2-1 in the previous 10 matchups between these squads.
