Carowinds was opened in 1973 and sits on the North Carolina/South Carolina border, placing it in Charlotte and Fort Mill, just off Interstate 77.
The amusement park has grown to more than 400 acres and features more than 60 rides through multiple parks, like the Carolina Harbor Waterpark and Camp Snoopy children’s area.
The park hosts several special events each year, including a summertime concert series, the SCarowinds Halloween event, and WinterFest holiday experience.
