ESCANABA, MI – A historic hotel in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula caught fire this morning.
House of Ludington , built in 1864, is burning in Escanaba, MyUPNow reports .
“It is with profound sadness, as we all watch The House Of Ludington, a place we all love, full of over 160 years of Escanaba’s history go up in smoke,” officials said on the House of Ludington Facebook page . “It’s a tragic day.”
The cause of the fire and the extent of damage to the structure is unknown at this time. No injuries have been reported.
Hotel officials announced an account has been set up to help hotel employees and residents recover from the fire. Donations can be made to the House of Ludington Employees and Residents Relief Fund at First Bank or via Venmo .
