NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — North Charleston Police have arrested a man for swinging a sword in a neighborhood on Thursday.
Joshua Dorman, 47, was arrested and charged with aggravated breach of peace and threatening the life of a public official, North Charleston Police say.
Officers were dispatched just before 4:30 p.m. to the Spencer Creek Woods neighborhood after several callers reported that a man was swinging a sword and hammer. This caused several residents to distance themselves from Dorman.
The first officer who arrived at the scene saw Dorman swinging a three-foot-long medieval-style sword in the roadway.
Police say Dorman surrendered without incident after stabbing the sword into the ground.
No injuries were reported. Dorman was transported to the Al Cannon Detention Cen
