TEMPLE, Texas — The City of Temple and the Salvation Army are partnering this winter to help keep Central Texans warm.
The City has announced it and the Salvation Army will open an overnight warming shelter during periods of "severe winter weather" this season.
The shelter will be located at the Salvation Army Temple building, located at 419 W. Avenue G. The City said the shelter will open whenever temperatures drop to 32 degrees in dry weather or to 36 degrees in wet weather.
According to the City of Temple, the warming shelter will be open from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 a.m. on qualifying nights. If temperatures are still at or below 32 degrees at 7:30 a.m., guests will be allowed to stay until conditions improve, the City said.
