The swirl of coaching change drama that followed LSU’s hiring of Lane Kiffin calmed on Friday when No. 1 overall recruit Lamar Brown formally signed with the Tigers.
Brown is a five-star defensive tackle, listed at 6-5, 285 pounds, and the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2026 class per ESPN and On3.
The move immediately reinforces a 2026 class already stocked with high-end talent, including five-star CB DJ Pickett and four-star RB Harlem Berry, and hands Kiffin a decisive early win.
Brown, a University Lab (Baton Rouge) product with state titles in shot put/discuss, committed in July, but didn't put ink on his paperwork until Friday after briefly delaying his signature while waiting for clarity on LSU’s new staff.
