MONROE COUNTY, Indiana — An Indiana University student was critically injured in a crash while riding a bicycle in Monroe County Friday afternoon.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, the 19-year-old student was riding near North Bottom Road and West Maple Grove Road , about seven miles north of Bloomington, around 3:45 p.m. Dec. 5 when he was struck by a Honda Accord.
The cyclist was taken to IU Health Bloomington Hospital, where he was reported to be in critical condition.
Police say the 20-year-old driver of the Accord remained at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
