Jammu, Dec 6: Police in Doda have registered an FIR against an Assistant Sub-Inspector after a video allegedly showing him assaulting a two-wheeler rider in public went viral on social media.

According to officials, Anzar Majid Malik filed a written complaint on December 3 at the DH Doda police post, accusing ASI Ghulam Ali of wrongfully restraining and assaulting him.

Police said an FIR under relevant legal sections was promptly lodged at Doda police station and an investigation has been initiated.

Reiterating its zero-tolerance policy toward misconduct, the police said due legal process has been set in motion and further investigation is underway. (Agencies)
