SEATTLE — Sen. Patty Murray is calling for the release of a Washington man detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.
Her office says Wilmer Toledo-Martinez was mauled by an ICE dog in November, even though he was not resisting.
Murray says this all happened in front of his wife and young kids.
According to her office, Toledo-Martinez’s attorney says an ICE agent lured him out of his home, posing as a construction worker who claimed to have hit his car.
That’s when another agent released a dog on him, Sen. Murray said.
Murray says he was denied medical care for hours, then taken to the ICE facility in Tacoma.
She says he is undocumented, but married to a U.S. citizen.
ICE did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
