HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Honolulu Police Department is warning the public about scammers lurking in parking lots.
In two separate incidents in Miliani, HPD said the victims were driving and after they parked, were approached by a suspect who claimed the victim had hit their car.
While the victim was distracted, another suspect stole items from the victim’s open vehicle, police said.
The department said the investigations are ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to call 911 or call CrimeStoppers at (808) 955-8300.
HPD reminds the public to be aware of their surroundings and look out for suspicious activity, especially during the holiday season.
