Hearts investor Tony Bloom has hit back at allegations he bet in matches involving Brighton, branding them 'inaccurate and misleading.' ‌

Bloom, who owns the Premier League side as well as Union St Gilloise in Belgium and has a £10m stake in Hearts , has faced questions over his involvement in a $70m (£52m) legal case in the US. ‌

A report from The Guardian on Friday evening alleged Bloom was 'claimed to be' the unnamed person behind $70m of winnings which included bets on matches involving his own football team – which is against FA rules. ‌

It follows reports earlier in the week that Bloom was accused of running a secret £600m betting syndicate which used Nigel Farage's former aide George Cottrell to place 'substantial bets for a gambling syndicat
