External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar described India-Russia ties as one of the world’s most stable and strongest relationships. He said that India-Russia relations have remained “very steady,” and that India takes great care to ensure the partnership continues to work well.

Speaking at the HT Leadership Summit 2025, Jaishankar said the main aim of President Vladimir Putin’s two-day visit to India was to address the trade imbalance between the two countries.

He added that the visit opened new areas of cooperation, especially in economic ties, where progress had been slower in recent years.
