GRANITE CITY, Ill. (First Alert 4) - More than 130 students from the Granite City School District were treated to a new pair of shoes just in time for the holiday season, thanks to a local non-profit.

All God’s Children Shall Have Shoes is providing more than 700 students across the Metro East the opportunity to go shopping for shoes of their choice. On Thursday, students with the Granite City School District traveled to Alton Square Mall to take part in the annual tradition.

“Sometimes the children that come will have the same shoes from last year, so they really need these shoes,” said Sue Wooden with All God’s Children Shall Have Shoes. “It’s something special they can have at school that makes them look fun.”
