SUMMIT TWP., MI – It started with a casual conversation about sausage gravy.

Kibby Cobb Liquor and Deli Cook John Gearhart said he had been experimenting with the gravy when Deli Owner Adam Cyrocki told him it reminded him of his father’s recipe. The discussion led to brainstorming about how to serve it, Gearhart said.

Enter the loaded burrito.

Cyrocki insisted on adding tater tots, and eventually they packed them with egg, cheese, sausage gravy, bacon, onions, peppers and jalapenos.

Each burrito weighs around 1.5 pounds, Gearhart said.

“When we hand them off to them, I tell them two hands,” Gearhart said.

The deli, at 2628 Kibby Road just outside Jackson in Summit Township, began selling them about three to four months ago as a special, and they flew out the door. The weekend of Nov
