Four people have been arrested and the popular attraction was closed to the public
Police were called to the Tower of London this morning following reports that a display case containing the Crown Jewels had been damaged . The incident occurred shortly before 10am.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed they were called to the scene concerning criminal damage to a display case holding the State Crown. Officers worked alongside City of London Police and security.
Four protesters were arrested following the incident and have been taken into custody. They were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage.
The damage was reportedly caused when four protesters threw suspected food onto the case , with two of the individuals then leaving the scene. The food thrown was later claimed to be "crum
