EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - No. 7 Michigan State men’s basketball leads No. 4 Duke 34-31 at halftime at the Breslin Center in East Lansing.

Both teams entered the game unbeaten, with Duke at 9-0 and MSU at 8-0.

Spartans’ head coach Tom Izzo entered the game with a 3-14 lifetime record vs. Duke, with most games between the two taking place on neutral courts.

Jaxon Kohler led the Spartans with 12 points in the first half, hitting four three-pointers. Jeremy Fears Jr. had eight assists in the period.

Duke held a close lead until Kohler hit a three-pointer to make it 20-19 MSU with seven minutes remaining in the first half. Duke took a 23-20 lead before the Spartans went on an 8-0 run to take their largest lead of the half. Fears Jr. hit two free throws to close the half with a 34-31 MSU
