LAPLACE, La. —

A LaPlace man has been arrested for rape, sexual battery, and indecent behavior with minors.

Dennis Stephens, 68, of LaPlace was arrested and charged with first-degree rape, two counts of sexual battery, and indecent behavior with juveniles. Advertisement

St. John deputies arrested Stephens in September for sexual battery and indecent behavior with minors after an investigation led by the Criminal Investigations Division.

Following his arrest, two additional victims came forward and reported being sexually abused by Stephens.

Investigators were able to determine Stephens was responsible for the reported allegations and an arrest warrant was issued for his arrest.

Stephens was re-arrested on Dec. 1 and was released the following day after posting bond of $52,500.
