HARVEY, La. —

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly domestic dispute in Harvey.

Deputies responded to a report around 10:15 a.m. about a woman being shot in the 2200 block of Deerlink Lane. Advertisement

When they arrived at the scene, they found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound lying in the street.

Deputies arrested Zed Walker Jr., 66, of Harvey.

Preliminary findings indicate a domestic disturbance occurred at the residence prior to the shooting involving Walker, his adult stepson, and the victim.

During the incident, Walker produced a gun as the victim attempted to intervene between her son and husband, the gun went off.

The identity of the victim is being withheld at this time. Walker will be transported to the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center
