EAST LANSING – Michigan State’s sizzling start was stopped by a familiar foe.
The No. 7 Spartans (8-1) went cold offensively late as No. 4 Duke (10-0) pulled away for a 66-60 win at the Breslin Center on Saturday afternoon.
That ended Michigan State’s longest unbeaten start in a decade as the Blue Devils improved to 3-0 in East Lansing while coach Tom Izzo fell to 3-15 in the all-time series.
Carson Cooper led Michigan State with 16 points and a career-high 16 rebounds while Jaxon Kohler scored 14 and Coen Carr added 10. The Spartans’ starting backcourt struggled mightily from the field as Jeremy Fears finished 0-for-10 from the floor with 13 assists while Kur Teng was 0-for-5.
Cameron Boozer scored 16 of his game-high 18 points in the second half to lead Duke and added 15 rebounds bef
