Baramulla, 06 Dec: A Police patrol of Baramulla Police was carrying out routine duty at Chichilora when they spotted a suspicious person heading towards Lalpora. On seeing the Police Party, he tried to run away, but the alert officers quickly chased and caught him.

As per the statement issued here, the person was identified as Abdul Rashid Ganie, Son of Abdul Rahman Ganie, resident of Chichilora. During his personal search, the Police recovered around 105 grams of a heroin-like substance from his possession.

He was arrested on the spot. In this regard, FIR No. 134/2025 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kunzar. The investigation is going on to find out the source of the drugs and other people involved.
