The Steelers are elevating receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling from the practice squad to the active roster for Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Valdes-Scantling spent the past month on the practice squad after the San Francisco 49ers released him.

The move comes after the Steelers threw for a season-low 108 yards and scored a season-low seven points in a loss last weekend to the Buffalo Bills.

Calvin Austin III and Roman Wilson’s numbers have dipped in recent weeks. Austin has seven catches for 55 yards in the past four games and did not have a catch against the Bills. Wilson has three catches for 52 yards in the same stretch and was held off the stat sheet in the past two games.

The Steelers are hoping Valdes-Scantling’s history with Aaron Rodgers will yield better results.
