The Suffolk County prosecutors are dropping felony charges against seven people, including three Emerson College students, who were arrested in October after a pro-Palestinian rally on Boston Common turned violent, according to a spokesperson for the district attorney’s office.
The seven had been charged with violating the “prohibition of the promotion of anarchy,” also referred to in legal documents as “inciting a riot.” A conviction for the felony carries a maximum of three years in prison.
The seven still face misdemeanor charges, ranging from disorderly conduct and disturbing to peace, to resisting arrest, the district attorney’s office said in an email Thursday.
