Hakim Frampton caught three touchdown passes from Reece Simpson to lead Joe T. Robinson to a 34-19 victory over Hot Springs Lakeside in the Class 5A state championship game Saturday at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock. The Senators won their first title since 2021, when they were still in Class 4A.
Frampton, named the game’s MVP, finished with 163 yards on seven catches. His first touchdown cut Lakeside’s lead to 7-6 with 4:31 to play in the second quarter, setting off a string of 27 combined points over two minutes before halftime. Frampton’s second touchdown grab gave Robinson a 20-13 heading into intermission, and his third gave them a two-score advantage with 10:50 to play in the third quarter.
