BUFFALO, N.Y. — According to the job posting for a new Buffalo Police commissioner, the Ryan Administration is prepared to pay the city's next top cop between $225,000 and $250,000.

That's an increase ranging between 30% and 43%, depending on what final package is offered to a candidate.

Right now, Buffalo Police Commissioner Alphonso Wright earns $174,000, according to public records.

"We hope to bring in a police commissioner with experience from outside of the City of Buffalo," Ryan said.

Ryan previously confirmed that current commissioner, Wright, is retiring at the end of the year and will not be staying on for his administration.
