White students were the largest ethnic group in Peoria County in the 2024-25 school year, according to the Illinois State Board of Education .
Of the 26,073 students attending Peoria County schools, 47.9% were white. African American students were the second largest ethnicity, making up 28.5% of Peoria County students.
In the previous school year, white students were also the most common group in Peoria County, representing 49.5% of the student body.
Richwoods High School had the most even distribution of races among county schools, including 34.5% African American students, 33.9% white students, 15% Hispanic students, 13.1% multiracial students, and 2.8% Asian students.
