A 10-year-old boy in Maryland who vanished over the summer has been found safe months after detectives first sounded the alarm, according to Montgomery County Police.
Wise Da’Science Dickerson was reported missing back on Aug. 6, after he was last seen in the 18000 block of Feathertree Way in Montgomery Village.
Detectives with the Special Victims Investigations Division asked for the public’s help, sharing his photo and description as the search stretched on.
The case stayed open for months — until late Saturday night, Dec. 6, when police announced that Wise had been located safe and unharmed.
No additional details were released, but the update quickly spread across social media as residents who had followed the case breathed a sigh of relief.
At the time of his disappearance, police said Wise was 4-foot-7, about 70 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Investigators also advised that he may have been with a missing teen, though no further information was provided.
Montgomery County Police thanked the community for sharing his photo and helping keep the case visible as the months passed.
