Former India pacer Venkatesh Prasad has been elected as the new president of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) on Sunday, December 7. Santosh Menon and Sujith Somasunder were elected secretary and Vice-President, respectively. Prasad saw off competition from KN Shanth Kumar to win the elections and take up the new role.
The former pacer, who represented India in 33 Tests and 196 ODIs, has served as the vice-president of the association in the past. Prasad won the election against Shanth Kumar 749-558 as a total of 1307 members voted on Sunday. Somasunder won the election to the post of vice-president ahead of D. Vinod Shivappa with a tally of 719-588.
